Reconstruction of Starý Most in Bratislava
For the reconstruction of the old bridge (starý most) in Bratislava, a temporarily support on a barge was designed to aid the skidding operation.
Marine Heavy Lift Partners were asked to verify the structural integrity of the barge Lastdrager 12 from Van der Wees.
The complexity of the problem and the heavy loads involved, required a detailed non-linear FEM analysis. The barge has carefully and cleverly been reconstructed as a finite element model. The model was used to check the internal strength due to deck loading and global hull deformation.
Following the analysis, MHLP suggested a modified deck layout that resulted in an efficient and practical solution.
