Strength calculation of barge WB 3
For a steel bridge transport the structural strength of Wagenborg Barge 3 was checked.
For this project a steel girder bridge was transported on the barge WB 3. A skidding method was used for the load-out operation. The support rails were applied near the aft and fore. This resulted in a hogging moment in the barge.
Marine Heavy Lift Partners was involved in checking the global and local strength of the barge and modifying the design of the load spreaders.
