Dead load capacity of WB 11
The strong-point capacity has been determined for the barge WB 11.
Marine Heavy Lift Partners were asked to determine the dead load capacities of the Wagenborg Barge 11 at several strong-points. For an early project design stage, this information was much needed, because it dictates the design of load spreaders and sea fastening on deck.
We set up a detailed FEM model on which we applied realistic deck loads. This enabled us to analyze the internal stresses and buckling behavior of the bulkheads, web-frames and side shell as well as the influence on nearby strong-points.
